Lynn Hollen Lees

Lynn Hollen Lees is Professor of History Emerita at the University of Pennsylvania, where she taught European History and World History for 35 years. She has also been a visiting faculty member at  University College London, the Catholic University of Leuven, and the University of Diponegoro  in Indonesia. Her special interest is in the history of cities. She has held fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the American Council of Learned Societies and the National Endowment from the Humanities. Among her publications are The Making of Urban Europe, 1000-1995, and The Solidarities of Strangers: The English Poor Laws and the People, 1700-1998. She has also served as Vice Provost for Faculty.
