Harrison Schley is a Ph.D. student in the department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his M.A. from the same department in 2014. Harrison’s research interests include 17th through 19th century Japanese crafts and tea utensils, and the relationship between Japanese and European crafts during this period. In 2011, Harrison helped curate “A Taste for Tea in Japan” in the Japanese galleries at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
